Rainbow

Rainbow is a natural phenomenon that is so impressive. This phenomenon often appears after rain. Rainbow is an arc spectrum which is so large and occurs because the drops are refracted by sunlight. When the sun is shining and the light passing through water droplets, then you will see a refraction that causes a wide variety of colors. Light is refracted like light passing through a glass prism.

Other names of the rainbow is a rainbow which is a symptom of optical and meteorological phenomenon in which light with different colors refracted parallel to each other into water droplets. You can also see this phenomenon under the very high and heavy waterfall.

How does rainbow happen in detail? All the happenings begin when the sunlight passing through the raindrops. Then the light is deflected to the center of the droplet. The white light, now separated from each other into a spectrum of colors. The process does not stop there. The colors that have been separated, then separate again into the very small portions. There is more light separated from each other in the droplets. Then there are more curved and finally those color form a light curve called a rainbow.

Can we make a rainbow? Of course. There are at least two ways that you can do to make a rainbow. First, you can use a spray containing water. We know that rainbows occur when sunlight passing through the raindrops. So, we make our own rain droplets from the water spray. In the morning or afternoon, spray water under the sun, then see the water droplets flying. Spray lots of water and you will see a small rainbow that you can touch easily.

Second, use pieces of video discs then reflected to the light of the sun, and navigate to the wall or ceiling of your house. On the ceiling or the wall, you will see a colorful light that have the same color with the rainbow.

That’s the definition of rainbow, how does it happen, and how we can make it true.

Explanation Vs Procedure Text

Hallo, guys!! Before we know about the differences and similatities of Explanation and Procedure text, we must know the meaning of each text.

We know that Explanation is a text which tells processes relating to forming of natural, social, scientific and cultural phenomena. Explanation text is to say 'why' and 'how' of the forming of the phenomena. It is often found in science, geography and history text books.

And we also knew that Procedure text is a text that explains or helps us how to make or use something. Its social function is to describehow something is completely done through a sequence of series. Communicative purpose of this text is to describe how something is made through a sequence of actions or steps.

What are differences and similiarities between the two text?

The difference of the explanation text and procedure text :

1. The explanation text tends to the chronological explanation about why and how  the thing happens based on the natural background and also social environment.

2. Otherwise, The procedure text tends to the instruction how to make or use something within  the human's need.

The similiatities between explanation & procedure text :

Seeing the social function, both procedure and explanation have the similarity in which both describe how to make or done something. They give the detail description on something, phenomena, goods, product case or problem.

Then, how about the example of the text??

Here, I will tell you an example of Explanation and Procedure text. 

1. EXPLANATION TEXT

Corona Virus or Covid 19

Corona virus is thought to originate from animals, such as bats and camels, and can be transmitted from animals to humans, as well as from humans to humans. Human transmission is most likely through sputum sparks when coughing or sneezing. 

When infected with the Corona virus, a person will experience flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough, and runny nose. However, a few days later, people infected with the corona virus can experience shortness of breath due to infection in the lungs (pneumonia).

 The cause of this outbreak is a new type of coronavirus called the 2019 coronavirus novel (2019-nCoV).

The Corona virus infection, called COVID-19, first occurred in the city of Wuhan, China and has now been found in more than 100 countries, including Indonesia. 

Some things that are done to prevent Corona virus infection are: 

1. Wash your hands properly Wash your hands with running water and soap, for at least 20 seconds (back of hands, wrists, between fingers, and nails) then dry with a clean tissue or towel, or use a hand sanitizer with a minimum of 60% alcohol content to be more effective at eradicating germ. 

2. Using a mask To prevent transmission of the Corona virus, you can use an N95 type mask or mask to dissect. N95 type mask is a special type of mask to filter out harmful particles in the air.

3. Maintain endurance By consuming healthy foods and vitamins, regular exercise and rest can increase endurance so as to avoid transmission of the Corona virus.

4. Don't go to an infected country 

5. Limit yourself from crowded places 

6. Comply with and implement appeals that have been submitted by the government. 

7. Stay alert and don't panic.


2. PROCEDURE TEXT

How to Make Durian & Banana Kolak

Kolak is a favorite food of various circles, ranging from children to adults. Kolak is tradisional food from Indonesia with coconut milk and usually the material is tubers. But you can also replace the material into durian and banana. Durian & Banana Kolak is very easy to make. The ingredients are easy to obtain. At the end of this month it still often rains. So, Kolak is suitable for consumption. Kolak can also be consumed with ice. Lately news is rife about the Corona Virus, people are forbidden to leave the house. So we don't get bored at home let's just make Kolak with family ! No need to buy out of the house. I will tell you How to Make Durian & Banana Kolak that's easy and delicious.

Ingredients :

1. 10 bananas.
2. Durians (to taste).
3. 1/2 coconut. Grate, squeeze with water and take the coconut milk.
4. 1/4 sugar.
5. 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
6. 2 pandan leaves.
7. 500 ml water.  

Directions :

1. Put 500 ml water into the pan, bring to a boil. 
2. Peel the banana skin, make small cuts and place in the boilin pan along. 
   
                                 
3. Add pandan leaves.
   
4. Add sugar, salt, coconut milk, and  durian.
    
   
5. Bring to boil everything inside the pan until banana and durian become tender, taste the soup if its sweet enough for you, turn off the stove.
6. Serve it.
   
7. Delicious Durian & Banana Kolak is ready to be eaten with the family💜
